Description

FHF2A (FGF13) Antibody [N235/22]

FHF2A (FGF13) Antibody [N235/22] is a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against FHF2A (FGF13), offered by Assay Genie for research applications. Reported applications include WB, IHC and ICC/IF. Reported reactivity: Human, Mouse and Rat. Supplied as IgG2b, purified by Protein G.

Fibroblast growth factor 13 (FGF13) is a non-secreted member of the FGF family that functions intracellularly to regulate neuronal excitability, microtubule stabilization, and axonal development. Unlike classical FGFs, FGF13 does not act through FGF receptors but instead modulates ion channel activity and cytoskeletal dynamics. In the central nervous system, FGF13 is essential for proper neuronal migration and synaptic function. Mutations or altered expression of FGF13 have been linked to epilepsy, intellectual disability, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Recent studies suggest that FGF13 may also play a role in neurodegenerative diseases by influencing axonal transport and mitochondrial dynamics—processes disrupted in Alzheimer’s and ALS. FGF13’s unique intracellular functions make it a compelling candidate for targeted therapies aimed at preserving neuronal integrity and function in neurodegenerative conditions. This antibody is also available conjugated to ATTO 390, ATTO 488, ATTO 594, APC, Biotin, FITC, HRP, PerCP and RPE. Supplied in 100 µg. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
