Description

LGI1 Antibody [N283/7 (Formerly sold as S283-7)]

LGI1 Antibody [N283/7 (Formerly sold as S283-7)] is a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against LGI1, offered by Assay Genie for research applications. Reported applications include WB, IHC and ICC/IF. Reported reactivity: Human, Mouse and Rat. Supplied as IgG2a, purified by Protein G.

LGI1 (Leucine-Rich Glioma Inactivated 1) is a secreted synaptic protein that modulates neuronal excitability and synaptic transmission. It interacts with ADAM22 and ADAM23 to stabilize AMPA receptor function and maintain synaptic integrity. Mutations in LGI1 are linked to autosomal dominant lateral temporal lobe epilepsy (ADTLE) and have been implicated in autoimmune encephalitis. In neurodegenerative disease research, LGI1 is gaining attention for its role in synaptic maintenance, neuroinflammation, and neuronal survival. Dysregulation of LGI1 may contribute to cognitive decline and seizure susceptibility. Its dual role in epilepsy and neurodegeneration highlights LGI1 as a valuable biomarker and therapeutic target in synaptic pathologies. This antibody is also available conjugated to ATTO 390, ATTO 488, ATTO 594, APC, Biotin, FITC, HRP, PerCP and RPE. Supplied in 100 µg. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
