Description

nNOS Antibody [J23]

nNOS Antibody [J23] is a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against nNOS, offered by Assay Genie for research applications. Reported applications include WB, ICC/IF, ELISA and IHC. Reported reactivity: Human, Mouse and Rat. Supplied as IgG2a, purified by Protein A.

Neuronal nitric oxide synthase (NOS1 or nNOS) is a constitutive enzyme responsible for producing nitric oxide (NO), a gaseous neurotransmitter involved in synaptic plasticity, neurovascular coupling, and neuroprotection. NOS1 catalyzes the oxidation of L-arginine to L-citrulline and NO, modulating intracellular signaling cascades. In neurodegenerative diseases, dysregulated NOS1 activity contributes to oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and excitotoxicity. Excessive NO production can lead to peroxynitrite formation and protein nitration, exacerbating neuronal injury. Targeting NOS1 and its downstream pathways offers potential for therapeutic intervention in conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and ALS. This antibody is also available conjugated to ATTO 390, ATTO 488, ATTO 594, APC, Biotin, FITC, HRP, PerCP and RPE. Supplied in 100 µg. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
