Zinc Finger, AN1-Type Domain 5, also known as ZFAND5 is implicated inprotein degradation through the ubiquitin-proteasome system. ZFAND5 performs byanchoring ubiquitinated proteins to the proteasome and takes part inubiquitin-mediated protein degradation during muscle atrophy. Furthemore,ZFAND5 plays a role in the regulation of NF-kappa-B activation as well asapoptosis. ZFAND5 inhibits NF-kappa-B activation as well as tumor necrosisfactor (TNF), IL-1 and TLR4-induced NF-kappa-B activation.
ZFAND5 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylatedpolypeptide chain containing 236 amino acids (1-213 a.a) and having a molecularmass of 25.5kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear higher).ZFAND5 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus& purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | Involved in protein degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome system. May act by anchoring ubiquitinated proteins to the proteasome. Plays a role in ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation during muscle atrophy. Plays a role in the regulation of NF-kappa-B activation and apoptosis. Inhibits NF-kappa-B activation triggered by overexpression of RIPK1 and TRAF6 but not of RELA. Inhibits also tumor necrosis factor (TNF), IL-1 and TLR4-induced NF-kappa-B activation in a dose-dependent manner. Overexpression sensitizes cells to TNF-induced apoptosis. Is a potent inhibitory factor for osteoclast differentiation. |
