The tachykinin family of secreted neuropeptides is transcribed by TAC3/Tachykinin-3. The mature peptide, which is mostly found in the central and peripheral nervous systems and serves as a neurotransmitter, is generated by proteolysis of the preproprotein precursor. This protein is the neurokinin-3 receptor ligand. This protein may also be found in the outer syncytiotrophoblast of the placenta and has been linked to pregnancy-induced hypertension and pre-eclampsia. The TAC3 mutation is associated with normosmic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. At least one of the transcripts generated by alternative splicing comprises a proteolytically processed isoform. Normosmic congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism 10 with or without anosmia are two diseases linked to TAC3. RET signalling and GPCR signalling are two pathways that are related to TAC3. Human Tachykinin-3/TAC3 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
