Proenkephalin-B/PDYN is a proprotein that is cleaved proteolytically to yield the peptides beta-neoendorphin, dynorphin, leu-enkephalin, rimorphin, and leumorphin. The kappa-opioid receptors are triggered by these peptides, which bind to them. Dynorphin is involved in the modulation of mood after administration of a variety of psychoactive drugs, including cocaine. Spinocerebellar ataxia 23, which causes loss of motor control, is one of the most prevalent neurodegenerative diseases associated with PDYN. PDYN is also linked to cocaine addiction and other neurodegenerative diseases. GPCR and peptide ligand-binding receptors are two PDYN linked processes. Human Proenkephalin-B/PDYN Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
