PEPD belongs to the peptidase M24B family of Eukaryotic-type prolidase subfamily. PEPD is a cytosolic dipeptidase that hydrolyzes dipeptides with proline or hydroxyproline at the carboxy terminus. The high amounts of imino acids in collagen metabolism necessitate the involvement of this protein. Prolidase deficiency is an autosomal recessive disease associated with iminodipeptiduria, which is caused by defects in PEPD. Human Peptidase D/PEPD Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
