The NME1 gene was discovered as a result of low mRNA transcript levels in highly metastatic cells. The nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDK) is a hexamer composed of variants 'A' and 'B,' which are encoded by the NME2 gene. Mutation of the NME1 gene has been linked to aggressive neuroblastomas. Due to the work of NME1 and its adjacent gene (NME2), naturally occurring transcripts are produced, which combine portions of each individual protein product. NME1 is linked to two types of cancer: NME1 Anal Canal Carcinoma and Larynx Cancer. The pyrimidine deoxyribonucleotide de novo synthesis superpathway, the zidovudine pathway and the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics are pathways linked to NME1. Human NME1/NDKA Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
