Leptin is a hormone produced by white fat cells that has an impact on food consumption and energy balance. Leptin works via signals that travel through the hypothalamus OB-R pathway. Leptin's impact on reducing body weight and controlling blood glucose level has been shown in animal studies. Mice without leptin deficiency became massively obese and had a higher chance of diabetes when leptin-related mutations were introduced in the obese gene. Metabolic rate is reduced in leptin deficiency. Leptin-deficient mice are less active and have a reduced body temperature than normal mice. The human protein is nearly identical to the mouse protein, sharing about 84 percent sequence identity. The mature protein sequence of human leptin has an amino acid length of 167 residues, including a 21-amino-acid signal sequence and a 146-amino-acid core protein. Human Leptin Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
Immobilized Human Leptin at 10µg/ml(100 ?l/well) can bind Human CD295-His(Cat: PKSH033606).
