The insulin-like 4 protein (INSL4) is a type I integral membrane protein that belongs to the insulin superfamily. INSL4 encodes a precursor that is post-translational cleaved into 3 polypeptide chains, A-C, these form tertiary a structure made of either all three chains or just the A and B. INSL4-related disorders include the placenta accreta and chromosome 9P deletion syndrome.
