IL-15RA is a cytokine receptor that binds interleukin 15 (IL15) very strongly. IL2R-15RA has structural characteristics that are similar to those of IL2R alpha, an additional IL2-specific alpha subunit necessary for good binding of IL2.However, regardless of other subunits, IL15RA binds IL15 with high affinity, suggesting that it has distinct purposes from IL2.The activating G protein-coupled receptors are activated by the ligand and stimulate cell proliferation. This receptor is thought to promote cell proliferation and BCL2L1/BCL2-XL and BCL2 expression. Several variant transcript forms of this gene have been identified. IL-15RA is also connected with a variety of other diseases, including T-Cell Large Granular Lymphocyte Leukemia and Ossification Of The Posterior Longitudinal Ligament Of Spine. It is part of two related pathways, Innate Lymphoid Cells Differentiation and Common Cytokine Receptor Gamma-Chain Family Signaling Pathways. Human IL15RA/IL5RA Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
Measured by its ability to block human IL-15-induced proliferation of CTLL?2 mouse cytotoxic T cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.35-3.5 ng/ml.
