Human IgG4-Fc Recombinant Protein

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is a monomeric immunoglobulin that is primarily involved in the secondary antibody response and is the only immunoglobulin type able to pass through the human placenta. The main function of immunoglobulins is to aid the immune system in removing harmful bacteria by agglutination and immobilization, complement activation, toxin neutralization, and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). The immunoglobulin G (IgG) tetramer consists of two heavy chains (50 kD) and two light chains (25 kD), linked by disulfide bonds, to form the Y-like shape. IgG is digested by pepsin proteolysis into Fab fragment (antigen-binding fragment) and Fc fragment ("crystallizable" fragment). IgG1 is the most prevalent of the four IgG subclasses (IgG1; 2; 3 and 4) and has a strong affinity for Fc receptors (FcR ) on phagocytic cells. Fc fragment is demonstrated to mediate phagocytosis; trigger inflammation; and target Ig to particular tissues. Protein G or Protein A on the surface of specific Staphylococcal and Streptococcal strains, which bind specifically with the Fc region of IgGs, has numerous applications in biotechnology as an affinity purification reagent. The recombinant IgG Fc region is said to be a potential anti-inflammatory medication for human autoimmune diseases. Human IgG4-Fc Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
