Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) is a disulfide-linked homodimeric glycoprotein from the TGF-superfamily. It has been found to promote the survival of both central and peripheral nerve cell subpopulations throughout the course of their development in both the central as well as peripheral nervous systems. Human GDNF cDNA encodes a 211 amino acid residue prepropeptide that is processed to yield a dimeric protein. The mature human GDNF protein was predicted to be made up of two 134 amino acid subunits. Sertoli cells, type 1 astrocytes, Schwann cells, neurons, pinealocytes, and skeletal muscle cells are just a few of the cells that have been shown to express GDNF. This gene is thought to be involved in Hirschsprung disease. Human GDNF Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
Immobilized Human GDNF at 2µg/ml(100 ?l/well) can bind Human GFRA1-His(Cat: PKSH033670).
