Human Eotaxin-3/CCL26 Recombinant Protein

Chemokine Ligand 26 protein (CCL26) is a novel small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family which is involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. CCL26 is continuously expressed in the thymus, but only transiently so in phytohemagglutinin-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells. It binds and activates chemotaxis in T cells, as well as producing its effects by interacting with the chemokine receptor CCR4. Eotaxin-1, Eotaxin-2, and CCL26 bind to the CC chemokine receptor 3 (CCR3) and selectively activate it. Eotaxin-3-CCR3 interactions may be important in allergic conditions such as atopic dermatitis and bronchial asthma. The cDNA for CCL26 contains a protein of 94 amino acids, with a putative signal peptide of 23 or 26 amino acid residues. In the same cell line, both 71 and 68 amino acid substitutions of recombinant CCL26 result in comparable chemotaxis activation. CCL26 is distinct from the other CC chemokines in that it maps to human chromosome 7q11.2; it is within 40 kilobases of the Eotaxin-2 loci. CCL26 and Eotaxin-2 are the only chemokines discovered thus far that map to chromosome 7. Human Eotaxin-3/CCL26 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
