Defensins are cationic peptides that are an important component of the innate immune response. Some leukocytes and epithelial surfaces express beta-defensins. Human beta-defensins include BD-1, BD-2, BD-3, and BD-4. The beta-defensins are characterized by a six-cysteine motif, which leads to three intra-molecular disulfide bonds. Beta-defensins attract immature dendritic cells and memory T cells as well. The C-terminal portion of precursor proteins is transcribed as beta-defensins; they are generated via proteolytic cleavage of a signaling sequence. Human DEFB104A Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
Recombinant Human beta-Defensin 4 is produced by our E.coli expression system and the target gene encoding Glu23-Pro72 is expressed.
