CarcinoembryonicAntigen-Related Cell Adhesion Molecule 6 (CEACAM6) is a part of the humancarcino-embryonic antigen (CEA) family. CEACAM6 belongs to the glycosylphosphatidylinositol-linkedimmunoglobulin superfamily which is involved in various human cancers. CEACAM6is linked to the progression of pancreatic cancer.
CEACAM6 Human Recombinant produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 297 amino acids (35-320) and having a molecular mass of 32.6kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 40-57kDa).CEACAM6 is fused to 6 amino acid His-Tag at C-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family whose members are glycosyl phosphatidyl inositol (GPI) anchored cell surface glycoproteins. Members of this family play a role in cell adhesion and are widely used as tumor markers in serum immunoassay determinations of carcinoma. This gene affects the sensitivity of tumor cells to adenovirus infection. The protein encoded by this gene acts as a receptor for adherent-invasive E. coli adhesion to the surface of ileal epithelial cells in patients with Crohn's disease. This gene is clustered with genes and pseudogenes of the cell adhesion molecules subgroup of the CEA family on chromosome 19. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014] |
