The protein encoded by PLAP is called alkaline phosphatase, which catalyses the hydrolysis of phosphoric acid monoesters. It is a member of the multigene family of alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes. The structure of PLAP is a homodimer with a catalytic site that contains one magnesium and two zinc ions, both of which are required for enzymatic activity. Because the liver is one of the main sources of this PLAP, it's one of several indicators of liver damage in a variety of clinical situations. PLAP is expressed in both placental and endometrial tissue during pregnancy, but it has also been discovered to be highly ectopic in ovarian adenocarcinoma, serous cystadenocarcinoma, and other ovarian cancer cells. Obstructive jaundice and hypophosphatasia are two diseases linked to ALPP. Human ALPP Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
Recombinant Human Alkaline Phosphatase, Placental Type is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Ile23-Asp506 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus.
