Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 18 (AITR) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. AITR is receptor for TNFSF18 and appears to be involved in interactions between activated T-lymphocytes and endothelial cells and in the regulation of T-cell receptor-mediated cell death. AITR is mediates NF-kappa-B activation via the TRAF2/NIK pathway.
AITR Human Recombinant produced in Sf9 Baculovirus is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 145 amino acids (26-162a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 15.6kDa (Migrates at 18-28kDa on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions).AITR is fused to an 8 amino acid His-tag at C-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | TNFRSF18: Receptor for TNFSF18. Seems to be involved in interactions between activated T-lymphocytes and endothelial cells and in the regulation of T-cell receptor-mediated cell death. Mediated NF-kappa-B activation via the TRAF2/NIK pathway. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. The encoded receptor has been shown to have increased expression upon T-cell activation, and it is thought to play a key role in dominant immunological self-tolerance maintained by CD25(+)CD4(+) regulatory T cells. Knockout studies in mice also suggest the role of this receptor is in the regulation of CD3-driven T-cell activation and programmed cell death. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011] |
