Description

p38 alpha MAPK Antibody [9F12]

p38 alpha MAPK Antibody [9F12] is a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against p38 alpha MAPK, offered by Assay Genie for research applications. Reported applications include WB, IHC, IP, ELISA and AM. Reported reactivity: Human, Mouse and Rat. Supplied as IgG1, purified by Protein G.

p38 MAPK (also known as SAPK2α) is a stress-activated kinase that orchestrates cellular responses to inflammatory and oxidative stimuli. It is activated by phosphorylation in response to diverse stressors, including hydrogen peroxide, cytokines, UV light, and chemotherapeutic agents. In neurons, p38 MAPK regulates apoptosis, synaptic remodeling, and inflammatory gene expression. Its activation leads to mitochondrial cytochrome c release and caspase-3 activation, contributing to neurodegeneration. Elevated p38 MAPK activity has been observed in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. Given its central role in stress signaling and cell death, p38 MAPK is a validated target for therapeutic intervention in neurodegenerative and inflammatory CNS disorders. This antibody is also available conjugated to ATTO 390, ATTO 488, ATTO 594, APC, Biotin, FITC, HRP, PerCP and RPE. Supplied in 100 µg. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
