Description

Nav1.8 Antibody [S134]

Nav1.8 Antibody [S134] is a mouse recombinant monoclonal antibody directed against Nav1.8, offered by Assay Genie for research applications. Reported applications include WB, IHC, ICC/IF and AM. Reported reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat and Monkey. Supplied as IgG2a, purified by Protein A.

Nav1.8 is a tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel encoded by the SCN10A gene and is selectively expressed in peripheral sensory neurons, particularly nociceptors. It is critical for the transmission of noxious stimuli and contributes to the upstroke of action potentials in pain pathways. Nav1.8 is implicated in inflammatory and neuropathic pain, and its selective expression outside the central nervous system makes it a promising target for analgesic development. Unlike other sodium channels, Nav1.8 remains active at lower temperatures, supporting its role in cold-induced pain. While not directly linked to central neurodegeneration, chronic pain and peripheral nerve dysfunction are increasingly recognized as contributors to cognitive decline and neuroinflammation. Targeting Nav1.8 may therefore have indirect benefits in managing neurodegenerative disease symptoms. This antibody is also available conjugated to ATTO 390, ATTO 488, ATTO 594, APC, Biotin, FITC, HRP, PerCP and RPE. Supplied in 100 µg. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
