 | IHC image of PACO60072 diluted at 1:400 and staining in paraffin-embedded human liver cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |

| NCBI Summary: | The protein encoded by this gene is a Kazal-type serine protease inhibitor that appears to specifically target kallikrein-related peptidase 5 (KLK5) in the palmo-plantar epidermis. KLK5 is an important initiator of skin desquamation, so the encoded protease inhibitor may regulate skin differentiation in the palms of hands and soles of feet. This cationic protein has also been shown to promote keratinocyte migration by activation of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015] |
