Background:	RAN Binding Protein 3, also known as RANBP3, is found in the nucleus and cytoplasm. RANBP3 which owns RanBD1 domain participates in nuclear export as part of a heteromeric complex. RANBP3 is also negatively regulates TGF-beta signaling by interacting with the R-SMAD proteins, SMAD2 and SMAD3.
