Oxalate Assay Kits are used to measure the amount of oxalate in a sample. Oxalate is a molecule that consists of an oxide and a carboxyl group. Produced as a metabolic breakdown product during the Kreb's Cycle, it can be found in the urine of mammals. Oxalate can bind with calcium to form insoluble calcium oxalate, which can cause kidney stones. Calcium is excreted in high concentrations in normal urine, making oxalate a more accurate marker for kidney stones.
This Oxalate Assay Kit utilizes a single working reagent to combine the oxalate oxidase reaction and color reaction in one step. As such, the change in color intensity of the reaction product at 595 nm is directly proportional to the amount of oxalate in the sample.
Sensitive and Accurate: | Use as little as 10 µL samples with a linear detection range in 96-well plate for 10 minute incubation: 20 to 1500 µM oxalate. |
Fast and Convenient: | Sample pre-treatment is faster and easier than using activated carbon in competitor's assay kits. |
High-throughput Adaptable: | The procedure involves addition of a single working reagent and incubation for 10 minutes at room temperature and can be automated for processing thousands of samples per day. |
