![]() | Immunofluorescence staining of Hela cells with PACO59449 at 1:33, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L). |
| Background: | Catalytically inactive phosphatase that plays a role as an adapter for the phosphatase myotubularin to regulate myotubularin intracellular location. |
| Synonyms: | Myotubularin-related protein 12 (Phosphatidylinositol 3 phosphate 3-phosphatase adapter subunit) (3-PAP) (3-phosphatase adapter protein), MTMR12, KIAA1682 PIP3AP |
| UniProt Protein Function: | MTMR12: Catalytically inactive phosphatase that plays a role as an adapter for the phosphatase myotubularin to regulate myotubularin intracellular location. Belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Non-receptor class myotubularin subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold; Protein phosphatase, tyrosine (non-receptor)Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5p13.3Cellular Component: cytoplasmMolecular Function: protein binding; phosphoric monoester hydrolase activityBiological Process: dephosphorylation |

| NCBI Summary: | Phosphatidylinositide 3-kinase-derived membrane-anchored phosphatidylinositides, such as phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns(3)P), regulate diverse cellular processes. The protein encoded by this gene functions as an adaptor subunit in a complex with an active PtdIns(3)P 3-phosphatase. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014] |
