Delta-Like4, also known as DLL4is implicated in the Notch signaling pathway as Notch ligand. Consequently DLL4negatively regulates endothelial cell proliferation, migration as well asangiogenic sprouting. DLL4 is vital for retinal progenitor proliferation andalso required for suppressing rod fates in late retinal progenitors and forproper generation of other retinal cell types. Furthermore, at some stage inthe spinal cord neurogenesis, DLL4 inhibits V2a interneuron fate.
DLL4 produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain (27-532 a.a.) and fused to a 6 aa His Tag at C-terminus containing a total of 512 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 55.8kDa.DLL4 shows multiple bands between 50-70kDa on SDS-PAGE, reducing conditions and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
