LAIR2 (Leukocyte-Associated Immunoglobulin-Like Receptor 2), also known as CD306, is a 131 amino acid protein with one lg-like C2-type domain. It is a soluble receptor with a high affinity for numerous collagen molecules that it binds to in a hydroxyproline-dependent manner. LAIR2 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and was characterized by its resemblance to LAIR1, an inhibitory leukocyte receptor. LAIR2 is thought to be secreted and may help modulate mucosal tolerance. Soluble LAIR2 competes with human LAIR1 for binding to collagens and LAIR1 cross-linking, thereby limiting its inhibitory capacity. Accordingly, LAIR2 is suggested to perform an immunoregulatory function. LAIR2/CD306 Recombinant Protein, Low Endotoxin is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
