Description

Human TRPV1 / Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 1 ELISA Kit

Capsaicin, the main pungent component of hot chilli peppers, causes burning pain by selectively activating sensory neurons that transmit information about noxious stimuli to the brain. The protein encoded by TRPV1 is a non-selective cation channel that is structurally related to members of the TRP family of ion channels.TRPV1 is a receptor for capsaicin. Increases in temperature in the noxious range also activate this receptor, implying that it functions as a transducer of painful thermal stimuli in vivo. Pulpitis and Somatoform Disorder are two diseases linked to TRPV1. Trk receptor signalling mediated by the MAPK pathway and ion channel transport are related pathways.
