TFPI2 takes part in the regulation of plasmin-mediated matrix remodeling. Inhibits trypsin, plasmin, factor VIIa/tissue factor and weakly factor Xa. TFPI2 doesnt have any influence on thrombin.
TFPI2 Human Recombinant produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 199 amino acids (23-213 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 22.9kDa (Migrates at 18-40kDa on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions).TFPI2 is expressed with an 8 amino acid His tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
| UniProt Protein Function: | TFPI2: May play a role in the regulation of plasmin-mediated matrix remodeling. Inhibits trypsin, plasmin, factor VIIa/tissue factor and weakly factor Xa. Has no effect on thrombin. |
| UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q22 Cellular Component: proteinaceous extracellular matrix; nucleus Molecular Function:serine-type endopeptidase inhibitor activity; extracellular matrix structural constituent Biological Process: blood coagulation |
| NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the Kunitz-type serine proteinase inhibitor family. The protein can inhibit a variety of serine proteases including factor VIIa/tissue factor, factor Xa, plasmin, trypsin, chymotryspin and plasma kallikrein. This gene has been identified as a tumor suppressor gene in several types of cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012] |
