Formulation:RTCA protein solution (0.25mg/ml) containing 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.15M NaCl, 20% glycerol and 1mM DTT.
Stability:Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

RNA 3'-Terminal Phosphate Cyclase (RTCA) encodes a part of the RNA 3'-phosphate cyclase family. RTCA takes part in RNA metabolism by catalyzing the ATP-dependent conversion of the 3'-phosphate of RNA substrates to a 2',3'-cyclic phosphodiester. RTCA is involved in some phases of cellular RNA processing.

RTCA Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 389 amino acids (1-366a.a) and having a molecular mass of 41.7kDa. RTCA is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

UniProt Protein Function:RTCD1: Catalyzes the conversion of 3'-phosphate to a 2',3'- cyclic phosphodiester at the end of RNA. The mechanism of action of the enzyme occurs in 3 steps: (A) adenylation of the enzyme by ATP; (B) transfer of adenylate to an RNA-N3'P to produce RNA- N3'PP5'A; (C) and attack of the adjacent 2'-hydroxyl on the 3'- phosphorus in the diester linkage to produce the cyclic end product. The biological role of this enzyme is unknown but it is likely to function in some aspects of cellular RNA processing. Belongs to the RNA 3'-terminal cyclase family.
