40S ribosomal protein S18 (RPS18) is a member of theribosomal protein S13P family. RPS18 is located in the cytoplasm. Ribosomes, theorganelles which catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit anda large 60S subunit. Jointly these subunits are composedof 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. RPS18encodes a ribosomal protein which is a component of the 40S subunit. RPS18 is arecognized binding partner of Cofilin and has been proposed to be a novelsubstrate for CaMKII. Among the diseasesassociated with RPS18 are bowen-conradi syndrome, and pasteurellosis.
RPS18 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 175 amino acids (1-152 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 20.1kDa.RPS18 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
