RNA Guanylyltransferase And 5'-Phosphatase also known as RNGTT is abifunctional mRNA-capping enzyme which exhibits RNA 5'-triphosphatase activityin the N-terminal section and mRNA guanylyltransferase activity in theC-terminal section.� In addition, RNGTTcatalyzes the first two steps of cap formation, through removing thegamma-phosphate from the 5'-triphosphate end of nascent mRNA to yield adiphosphate end, and also by transferring the gmp moiety of GTP to the5'-diphosphate terminus.
RNGTT Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single,non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 620 amino acids (1-597a.a) andhaving a molecular mass of 70.9kDa.RNGTT is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus& purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
| UniProt Protein Function: | RNGTT: a bifunctional mRNA capping enzyme with RNA 5'-triphosphatase activity in the N-terminal part and mRNA guanyltransferase activity in the C-terminal part. Catalyzes the first two steps of cap formation: by removing the gamma-phosphate from the 5'-triphosphate end of nascent mRNA to yield a diphosphate end, and by transferring the gmp moiety of GTP to the 5'-diphosphate terminus. Four alternatively spliced human isoforms have been described. Isoform 1 and isoform 4 are expressed in cerebrum, cerebellum, thyroid, lung, heart, liver, kidney, spleen, large intestine, testis, skin and muscle. Isoforms 2, 3 and 4 lack mRNA 5'-guanylyltransferase activity due to disruptions of the GTPase domain. |
