Rab3A is a member of the small GTPase superfamily, Rab family. Rab3A is a small, Ras-like GTPase expressed in neuroendocrine cells, in which Rab3A is linked with secretory vesicle membranes and regulates exocytosis. Rab3A protein may have a role in neurotransmitter release by regulating membrane flow in the nerve terminal.
RAB3A produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 240 amino acids (1-220 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 27.1kDa.RAB3A is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | RAB3A: Involved in exocytosis by regulating a late step in synaptic vesicle fusion. Could play a role in neurotransmitter release by regulating membrane flow in the nerve terminal. Heterodimer with RIMS2. Part of a ternary complex involving PCLO and EPAC2. Interacts with RPH3A. Interacts with the exocyst complex through SEC15. Binds SYTL4, RIMS1 and RIMS2. Interacts with RAB3IP. Interacts with SGSM1 and SGSM3. Specifically expressed in brain. Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. Rab family. |
