Parathymosin, also known as PTMS is a member of the pro/parathymosin family. PTMS may mediateimmune function by blocking the effect of prothymosin alpha which confersresistance to particular opportunistic infections. Among the diseasesassociated with PTMS are hepatitis b, and alzheimer's disease.
PTMS Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 125 amino acids (1-102aa) and having a molecular mass of 13.9kDa.PTMS is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | PTMS: Parathymosin may mediate immune function by blocking the effect of prothymosin alpha which confers resistance to certain opportunistic infections. Belongs to the pro/parathymosin family.Protein type: Cell cycle regulationChromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12p13Cellular Component: nucleusBiological Process: DNA replication |
