Phosphoribosyl Pyrophosphate Synthetase-Associated Protein 2 (PRPSAP2) is a protein which relates with the enzyme phosphoribosylpyrophosphate synthetase (PRS). PRS catalyzes the formation of phosphoribosylpyrophosphate which is a substrate for synthesis of purine, pyrimidine, histidine, tryptophan and NAD. PRS is a complex with 2 catalytic subunits and 2 associated subunits. PRPSAP2 encodes a non-catalytic associated subunit of PRS.
PRPSAP2 Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 392 amino acids (1-369) and having a molecular mass of 43.3kDa. PRPSAP2 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | Seems to play a negative regulatory role in 5-phosphoribose 1-diphosphate synthesis. |
NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a protein that associates with the enzyme phosphoribosylpyrophosphate synthetase (PRS). PRS catalyzes the formation of phosphoribosylpyrophosphate which is a substrate for synthesis of purine and pyrimidine nucleotides, histidine, tryptophan and NAD. PRS exists as a complex with two catalytic subunits and two associated subunits. This gene encodes a non-catalytic associated subunit of PRS. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011] |
