Profilin-II (PFN2) is ubiquitous protein which belongs to the profilin family. It binds to actin and modifies the cytoskeleton structure. At high concentrations, polymersizing actin is prevented because the reaction is negative, while it is encouraged at low levels. PFN2 is a ubiquitous actin monomer-binding protein. In response to extra cellular stimuli, it controls actin polymerization. PFN2 binds to PIP2; it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG. Human Profilin-2/PFN2 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
