Polymerase (RNA) II (DNA directed) Polypeptide C (POLR2C) is the 3rd largest subunit of RNA polymerase II. The product of POLR2C consists of a cysteine rich area and exists as a heterodimer with an additional polymerase subunit, POLR2J. Those 2 subunits shape a core subassembly unit of the polymerase.
POLR2C Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 298 amino acids (1-275a.a) and having a molecular mass of 33.8kDa. POLR2C is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

It is composed of mobile elements that move relative to each other. RPB3 is part of the core element with the central large cleft and the clamp element that moves to open and close the cleft.
