PhospholipidScramblase 3, (PLSCR3) may mediate accelerated ATP-independent bidirectionaltransbilayer migration of phospholipids upon binding calcium ions which resultsin a loss of phospholipid asymmetry in the plasma membrane. PLSCR3may play a key role in the initiation of fibrin clot formation, in theactivation of mast cells and in the recognition of apoptotic and injured cellsby the reticuloendothelial system. In addition, PLSCR3 seems to play a role inapoptosis, throughtranslocation of cardiolipin from the inner to the outer mitochondrial membranewhich promotes BID recruitment and enhances tBid-induced mitochondrial damages.Among the diseases associated with PLSCR3 are brain ischemia, and ischemia.
PLSCR3 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 288 amino acids (1-265 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 30.9kDa.PLSCR3 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | PLSCR3: May mediate accelerated ATP-independent bidirectional transbilayer migration of phospholipids upon binding calcium ions that results in a loss of phospholipid asymmetry in the plasma membrane. May play a central role in the initiation of fibrin clot formation, in the activation of mast cells and in the recognition of apoptotic and injured cells by the reticuloendothelial system. Belongs to the phospholipid scramblase family. |
