Description

Human MITF ELISA Kit

MITF (Melanocyte Inducing Transcription Factor) is a protein coding gene that is expressed in the melanocyte lineage. It is responsible for the transcriptional activation of other genes that are necessary for melanocyte development and function. Mutations in the MITF gene can cause various pigmentary abnormalities, including albinism. Albinism is a congenital disorder characterized by a lack of melanin production in the skin, hair, and eyes. An important paralog of MITF is TFE3.
