Leucine Rich Repeat And Ig Domain Containing 1, also known as Lingo1 isprimarily expressed in neuronal tissue, and most abundantly in the cortex. Inaddition, Lingo 1 is involved in the inhibition of axon regeneration all theway through a ternary complex formed with NgR1 (ligand-binding subunit) and p75(signal transducing subunit). The inhibitory action is accomplished throughRhoA-GTP upregulation in response to the presence of MOG, MAG or Nogo-66 in thecentral nervous system. Furthermore, LINGO-1 inhibits oligodendrocyte precursordifferentiation as well as myelination, by a mechanism which also involvesactivation of RhoA, however it appears that it does not require 75 or NgR1.
LINGO1 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single,non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 133 amino acids (241-337 a.a) andhaving a molecular mass of 15.1kDa.LINGO1 is fused to a 36 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus& purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
