KLK7 (Kallikrein Related Peptidase 7) is a serine protease encoded by the KLK7 gene. The KLK7 protein is expressed in many tissues, including the prostate, and is thought to be involved in the proteolysis of proteins involved in cell signaling and apoptosis. The precise function of KLK7 is not well understood, but it is thought to play a role in cancer progression and metastasis. The KLK7 protein can be detected in body fluids, such as serum and prostate secretions, making it a potential biomarker for prostate cancer.
This immunoassay kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human KLK7 concentrations in serum plasma and other biological fluids.

Recovery:
Matrices listed below were spiked with certain level of Human KLK7 and the recovery rates were calculated by comparing the measured value to the expected amount of Human KLK7 in samples.

Linearity:
The linearity of the kit was assayed by testing samples spiked with appropriate concentration of Human KLK7 and their serial dilutions. The results were demonstrated by the percentage of calculated concentration to the expected.

KLK7: May catalyze the degradation of intercellular cohesive structures in the cornified layer of the skin in the continuous shedding of cells from the skin surface. Specific for amino acid residues with aromatic side chains in the P1 position. SCCE cleaves insulin B chain at '6-Leu--Cys-7', '16-Tyr--Leu-17', '25-Phe--Tyr-26' and '26-Tyr--Thr-27'. Could play a role in the activation of precursors to inflammatory cytokines. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Kallikrein subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
