Interferon ?-6 (IFN-?6) is a secreted protein which belongs to the ?/β interferon family. IFN-?6 is produced by macrophages, expressed at low level, only 1.0% of the average gene in this release. IFN-?6 contains interferon alpha, beta and delta domain. IFN-? has antiviral activities. Interferon stimulates the production of two enzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.
