Interleukin-13 receptor subunit alpha-1 (IL13RA1) is a subunit of the interleukin 13 receptor. The IL13RA1 subunit forms a receptor complex with IL4 receptor alpha, which is a subunit shared by IL13 and IL4 receptors. IL13RA1 binds tyrosine kinase TYK2, and thus may mediate the signaling processes which leads to the activation of JAK1, STAT3 and STAT6 induced by IL13 and IL4. IL13RA1 is vital for allergen-induced airway hyperactivity and mucus hypersecretion.
IL13RA1 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 328 amino acids (22-343 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 37.7kDa (Migrates at 40-57kDa on SDSPAGE under reducing conditions).IL13RA1 is fused to a 6 amino acid His-tag at C-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | IL13R: Binds with low affinity to interleukin-13 (IL13). Together with IL4RA can form a functional receptor for IL13. Also serves as an alternate accessory protein to the common cytokine receptor gamma chain for interleukin-4 (IL4) signaling, but cannot replace the function of IL2RG in allowing enhanced interleukin-2 (IL2) binding activity. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 5 subfamily. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, cytokine Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq24 Cellular Component: interleukin-13 receptor complex; plasma membrane Molecular Function:hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor activity; protein binding Biological Process: cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway |
NCBI Summary: | The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the interleukin 13 receptor. This subunit forms a receptor complex with IL4 receptor alpha, a subunit shared by IL13 and IL4 receptors. This subunit serves as a primary IL13-binding subunit of the IL13 receptor, and may also be a component of IL4 receptors. This protein has been shown to bind tyrosine kinase TYK2, and thus may mediate the signaling processes that lead to the activation of JAK1, STAT3 and STAT6 induced by IL13 and IL4.
