Description

Human IL-17RA (Interleukin 17 receptor A) ELISA

Interleukin 17A (IL17A) is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T-lymphocytes. It is a strong inducer of the maturation of CD34-positive hematopoietic precursor cells into neutrophils, and it has immunosuppressive properties. This gene encodes a transmembrane protein (IL17RA) that is a ubiquitous type I membrane glycoprotein with low binding affinity for interleukin 17A. Interleukin 17A and its receptor are pathogenic in many inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. This receptor, like other cytokine receptors, appears to have a multimeric architecture.
