Human IGF-II/IGF2 Recombinant Protein
Insulin-Like Growth Factor II (IGF2) belongs to the insulin family of polypeptide growth factors that is involved in development and growth. This family includes molecules structurally similar to proinsulin that have a greater sequence similarity. The IGF2 is expressed only from the paternally inherited allele, and it is thought to be released by the liver and circulated throughout the blood. IGF-2 has been shown to stimulate the proliferation and survival of a variety of cell types, including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissue in vitro. IGF2 is influenced by placental lactogen and may play a role in fetal development. Human IGF-II/IGF2 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
