HEPACAM2 is necessary during prometaphase for centrosome maturation. Following poly-ADP-ribosylation (PARsylation) by TNKS, HEPACAM2 translocates from the Golgi apparatus to mitotic centrosomes and takes a significant part in the formation of robust microtubules for quick movement of chromosomes.
HEPACAM2 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 343 amino acids (32-351) and having a molecular mass of 37.9 kDa.HEPACAM2 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | HEPACAM2: Required during prometaphase for centrosome maturation. Following poly-ADP-ribosylation (PARsylation) by TNKS, translocates from the Golgi apparatus to mitotic centrosomes and plays a key role in the formation of robust microtubules for prompt movement of chromosomes: anchors AKAP9/CG-NAP, a scaffold protein of the gamma-tubulin ring complex and promotes centrosome maturation. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.Protein type: Membrane protein, integralChromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q21.3Cellular Component: centrosome; Golgi apparatus; midbody; spindleMolecular Function: protein bindingBiological Process: centrosome organization and biogenesis |
