Human Eotaxin-3/CCL26 Recombinant Protein

CC Motif Ligand 26 (CCL26) is a novel small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family, which is involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. CCL26 is expressed continuously in the thymus, but it is only transiently expressed in phytohemagglutinin-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells. CCL26 is a potent chemoattractant for T cells and activates them via CCR4. Eotaxin-3/CCL26 activates the CC chemokine receptor 3 (CCR3) exclusively, along with Eotaxin-1 and Eotaxin-2. The Eotaxin-3-CCR3 connection may be important in allergic disorders such as atopic dermatitis and bronchial asthma. A polypeptide of 94 amino acids, encoded by the full-length cDNA for Eotaxin-3, is predicted to have a putative signal peptide of 23 or 26 amino acid residues. Eotaxin-3 variants with 71 and 68 amino acid residues had comparable chemotaxis-inducing activity in a human CCR3 transfected cell line. Eotaxin-3 is the only CC chemokine that maps to human chromosome 7q11.2; it's within 40 kilobases of the Eotaxin-2 gene complexes. The only two chemokines so far discovered to map to chromosome 7 are Eotaxin-3 and Eotaxin-2. Human Eotaxin-3/CCL26 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
