Coiled-coil-helix-coiled-coil-helixdomain containing 3 (CHCHD3), is a protein-coding gene. CHCHD3 is essential formaintenance of mitochondrial crista integrity and mitochondrial function. . Inaddition, CHCHD3 may perform as a scaffoldingprotein that stabilizes protein complexes involved in crista architecture andprotein import. CHCHD3 may also act as a transcription factor which binds tothe BAG1 promoter and represses BAG1 transcription. Lung cancer has beenassociated with CHCHD3.
