CD34 is a single chain transmembrane glycoprotein which is selectively expressed on human lymphoid and myeloid hemapoietic progenitor cells.CD34 has been used to measure angiogenesis, which reportedly predicts tumor recurrence.
CD34 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 280 amino acids (32-290a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 29.7kDa. CD34 is fused to a 21 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Could act as a scaffold for the attachment of lineage specific glycans, allowing stem cells to bind to lectins expressed by stromal cells or other marrow components. Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins. Selectively expressed on hematopoietic progenitor cells and the small vessel endothelium of a variety of tissues. Belongs to the CD34 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |
