The Cluster of Differentiation 31 (CD31) adhesion molecule, often known as the platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1), is the only identified member of the CAM family on platelets. CD31 protein is a 130-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein produced by endothelial cells, platelets, monocytes, neutrophils, and certain T cell subsets. The CD31 protein is found in some tumors, including epithelioid hemangioendothelialioma, other vascular malignancies, and histiocytic diseases. CD31 is essential for removing old neutrophils and tissue regeneration. CD31 protein binds to itself or the leukocyte integrin alpha-v-beta-3 and is involved in neutrophil recruitment, transendothelial migration of leukocytes, and cardiovascular formation in inflammatory responses. Human CD31/PECAM1 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
The mature form of human CD31 (EAW94208.1) extracellular domain (Met1-Lys 601) with five additional amino acids (DDDDK) at the C-terminus was expressed and purified.
This product is provided as lyophilized powder which is shipped with ice packs.
Stability and Storage:
Lyophilized proteins are stable for up to 12 months when stored at -20 to -80°C. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-8°C for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20°C for 3 months.
