CASP7 (Caspase 7) encoded protein belongs to the caspase family and is involved in the apoptotic process. CASP7 is overexpressed in many tumors, making it a potential target for cancer therapy. Additionally, mutations in CASP7 have been associated with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy 2D, a muscle wasting disorder. The encoded protein is known to interact with Bcl-2, an anti-apoptotic protein, and to be involved in the mitochondrial pathway of apoptosis. n important paralog of CASP7 is CASP3.
This immunoassay kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human CASP7 concentrations in serum plasma and other biological fluids.

Recovery:
Matrices listed below were spiked with certain level of Human CASP7 and the recovery rates were calculated by comparing the measured value to the expected amount of Human CASP7 in samples.

Linearity:
The linearity of the kit was assayed by testing samples spiked with appropriate concentration of Human CASP7 and their serial dilutions. The results were demonstrated by the percentage of calculated concentration to the expected.

CASP7: Involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves and activates sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs). Proteolytically cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) at a '216-Asp--Gly- 217' bond. Overexpression promotes programmed cell death. Heterotetramer that consists of two anti-parallel arranged heterodimers, each one formed by a 20 kDa (p20) and a 11 kDa (p11) subunit. Interacts with BIRC6/bruce. Highly expressed in lung, sk
